Halloween Snack Thanks to Hospitality, the students enjoyed a Halloween snack, while enjoying some spooky cobwebs and ghostly decorations. Thank you to Mrs. Candice Driscoll and Mrs. Gina Pattison and to all the parents who helped prepare and serve the treat.
Race for Education We've had an unbelievable run this year for our Race goal. We have blown past our initial goal of $35k, as well as our second goal of $40k, and we are now only hundreds away from our ultimate reach goal of $50k. This has been a record setting, banner year for Race.
We can't thank Mrs. Jackie Alvarez, and her team of volunteers enough, for their hard work and dedication.
We hope the students enjoyed the four mascots who came to kickoff Race. Thank you to Kenny Rios, Michael Mueller, and Santiago Ralston for making that experience so awesome!
New Recess Equipment The PTO recently purchased new recess equipment for all students to enjoy. There are hula hoops, skip its, jump-ropes, basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, whiffle bats and balls, and footballs. Hopefully, the new colorful assortment will stay organized on the new cart.
Original Works Mrs. Kristin Lynch has sent STS's artwork off to be made into beautiful pieces, just in time for Christmas. The orders should be delivered the week of December 4. Mrs. Lynch plans to get them to the students shortly after that.
Santa's Workshop Soon everyone's favorite mini store will be back and open for business. This year, the dates are December 5-7; it will take place in the Music Room; thanks Mrs. Salinas, for giving up such a great space. VIRTUS parents, look for volunteer opportunities to help your class with their Christmas shopping. Shortly after the Thanksgiving break, envelopes for money will be sent home with students. It is really helpful for volunteers when we know how many people students are buying for and what the spending range is for each.
BINGO Night Last Friday's BINGO night was a record setting event. It was the largest BINGO night we have had and we couldn't have done it without Mrs. Mary Jans. It was a bittersweet evening because this is her last year at STS. We can't THANK YOU enough for all you have done for STS, Mrs. Jans! As a result, we are in need of a BINGO Chair for next year. Please email us if you are interested in this position.
The PTO would also like to thank Father Schierer for being our BINGO Caller. We hope he had so much fun that he comes back next year.
Recess Equipment The PTO recently purchased new recess equipment for the students. We hope to have it in their hands in the coming week.
Auction Committee The Auction Committee will be meeting this Friday, at 8am, in the aftercare room. If you want to get involved with the planning of the annual auction, please plan to attend. If you can not make the meeting but still want to be involved, please email us.
Original Works Fundraiser During the week of October 23, your child will be bringing home a packet of information regarding one of Saint Timothy's yearly fundraisers-- Original Works. For those of you not familiar with this program, Original Works allows your child's artwork to be transformed into various items which will be created and provided to you just in time for the Christmas season. Our preschool director Mrs Julie Evans and our art teacher Mrs Jeannette Frey design lesson plans which best allow your child's work to be turned into unique and vibrant products. A small sample of some of the products that you can purchase are: calendars, note cards, magnets, stainless steel travel mugs, ceramic coffee mugs, Christmas ornaments, and even quilting blocks, just to name a few.
These items will be available for purchase through an order form that your child will bring home in late October. Your items will be created, mailed to Saint Tim's, and distributed to you all in time for the holidays. These are gifts that are unique and allow you to display your child's creativity in a fun and functional way-- and best yet, Original Works shares its profits with St. Tim's. You can have gifts for loved ones, St Tim's can earn some money, and your child will be thrilled to see their "masterpiece" on display!
Halloween The PTO will be providing a special treat at lunch on Tuesday, October 31st to celebrate Halloween. Students will receive a Jell-O treat cup and their choice of drink - milk, chocolate milk or water. (Oreos will be available for any student who cannot have Jell-O.) Students have the option of purchasing lunch that day or bringing lunch just like a normal day. However, the dessert and drink will be free for all K-8 students and all-day preschool students even if they do not choose to buy lunch that day. If you'd like to help the PTO Hospitality committee make the Jell-O cups on October 30th or help with the luncheon on October 31st, please sign up online at Track It Forward.

Thank you to Mrs. Kristine Hunt for keeping the Tiger Closet running smoothly during the summer months.
Thank you to Mrs. Candice Driscoll and Mrs. Gina Pattison for the lovely Wine & Cheese event held in August. It was a wonderful way to reconnect and ease back into the school year.
We would like to introduce our new chairs: Mrs. Kelly Escorpizo will take charge of our Box Tops program; and Mrs. Kristin Lynch is running the Original Works fundraiser. The rest of our chairs have kindly agreed to return for another year, and we can't thank them enough for giving up their time for our school.
The PTO has been hard at work to get new spirit wear and a few additions to the uniform. We have established a new relationship with a small, family owned business in Vienna. Eric & Sarah are parents to two Our Lady of Good Counsel students, while owning and operating The Dress Code. Together, TDC and the PTO have designed items such as T-shirts, sweatshirts, a quarter zip, and head gear. Principal McLaughlin has graciously agreed to allow all students to wear the quarter zip in place of the sweater. Almost all spirit wear can be personalized!
To order, please follow this link and for a limited time please use the code: 2017 St. Timothy SWAG 10% OFF to receive 10% off the purchase of a quarter zip.
It's summer, but the PTO is still working for our school.
The Tiger Closet will be open in August. Have any donations?
Don't forget about Wine & Cheese on August 23. Have you ordered school supplies? Spend more time here, and less time shopping for school supplies! Say “no” to fluorescent lighting and crowded school supply aisles by ordering your child’s supplies. Our school earns 5% back and the bundles can be customized! Plus FREE Shipping on orders over $35!
